Program Owner and Director of Pitching
Jon Davis
Email: JonDavisnebb@gmail.com
Jon Davis founded Powerhouse Training in 2010. Davis, a former professional pitcher, made a name for himself as being on the cutting edge when it comes to developing training programs and methods for producing dramatically stronger, faster and more explosive athletes. Davis was on the forefront of the development and implementation of over-underload training for athletes, a method he began using in 2000.
In 2014 and 2015 Davis helped produce back to back top 10 round MLB draft picks (position players) out of the high school ranks for the first time in Western Massachusetts history (Isan Diaz and Seamus Curran). Both players continue to train regularly at Powerhouse as professional baseball players. Davis graduated Magna Cum Laude from Springfield College in 2006 with a degree in Applied Exercise Science. He has been CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) since 2007. Davis went on to play his college ball under Mark Simeone at Springfield College, earning 2nd team All-New Mac conference during 05 and 06 while producing a 1.93 ERA as a senior with opponents hitting only .157 against him. Jon also played 2 summers in the prestigious NECBL where he was one of the league’s top closers in 2005, producing a 1.00 ERA with 7 saves. As a 5’9” right handed pitcher, Jon earned a professional baseball contract as the only player to sign out of the 2007 tryout sponsored by the New Haven Cutters and Pro Dreams. The tryout consisted of well over 100 players from all over the country. His low 90’s fastball at 5’9” 170 lbs. was a product of his unique training methods that he now teaches to his athletes. |
